A Universally Unique Identifier (UUID) is a 128-bit number/tag used for computer data storage, transfer etc. UUID version 2 is called as "DCE security" UUIDs. UUID version 2 is not widely used due to some problems with its format. These only used in systems that attributes such as when, where or by whom the UUID is generated are useful.
UUID version 2 is also time and node based similar to UUID version 1. But, however UUID version 2 contains information such as user or group id on the local computer. Because the version 2 UUIDs include this information, the space for randomness is very limited.
